Three worst foods for asthma

One of the major health issues that can affect people at any age is asthma. This condition has been steadily increasing. Asthma is a chronic breathing problem caused due to the swelling of airways in the lungs. Some common symptoms include Wheezing, shortness of breath, chest pain or pressure and coughing (particularly at night). Allergies are one of the major reasons for asthma.

The symptoms of asthma can be prevented by making some simple lifestyle changes. Research shows that food  plays an essential role in minimizing some of the common symptoms of asthma, while on the other hand, certain foods can make the symptoms worst.

Let us examine some of the foods that must be avoided for asthma-

1. Peanuts- We all might be aware of the health benefits of peanuts, but not make of us know the fact that these nuts can lead to fatal allergic reactions in some people. Some studies shows that people at a very young age are more likely to develop an allergic reaction to peanuts and these people are also at a higher risk of developing asthma. Hence when you notice an allergy reaction to peanuts, try and avoid them.

2. Salt- Salt may also play a major role in worsening the condition asthma. Salt can also lead to high blood pressure, which further results in heart diseases. One must reduce the intake of salt. Salt can also contribute to inflammation in the airways by resulting in fluid retention. Hence people who are suffering from asthma must consume diet that is made with no salt or with very little salt.

3. Shellfish- Seafood is also results in major allergic reactions in some people. The allergy for shellfish can be developed not just in children but also adults are prone to developing severe symptoms. If you notice you are having issues after consuming shellfish then you must stay away from it. It is also good to avoid seafood dishes made with crab, shrimp and lobster.
