Human Rights activist and a survivor of sexual slavery, Nadia Murad and Congolese gynecologist, Denis Mukwege received the prestigious Nobel Prize Award 2018 for their contribution towards ending sexual violence.
Nadia Murad Basee Taha is a well-known human rights activist from Iraq. She was kidnapped and held by the Islamic state for quite a few years. Inspite of all the hardships, she went on to establish Nadia's Initiative, which is an organisation that helps women and children who are victims of human trafficking and war crimes. On the other hand, Denis Mukwege is a famous Congolese gynecologist. He is the founder and doctor in the Panzi Hospital in Bukavu (City in the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo), where he specially treats women who are victims of gang rape.
